AvtoVAZ to restart assembly of Granta cars with Euro-5 engines Sep 1
MOSCOW, Aug 29 (PRIME) -- Russia’s largest carmaker AvtoVAZ plans to restart assembly of its Lada Granta cars with the Euro-5 environmental class engines on September 1, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
In 2022, the company had to switch to assembly of cars with the Euro-2 engines because of the Western sanctions.
“From September 1, 2023, AvtoVAZ restarts production of cars that comply with the Euro-5 environmental standard … The new adjustments and engine control units were designed in Russia, which improves the technological independence of Lada,” the company said.
